Part of a whole-block revitalisation by the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney, including a new early learning centre and primary school. The 94 year old Church has been re-oriented and extensively renovated by Neeson Murcutt+Neille, to service the newly established inner-city parish of Sydney City South.
The signage references the scalloped motif used throughout the site, from the alter cloth and original stained glass glazing, to the new semi-circular steel awnings and sculpture plinths. Strong brand purple is used on the white walls internally, and lighter neutral graphics on the dark brick facade.
The digital What’s On screen is housed in a geometric frame, differentiating formally from the original architecture of the Church, and allowing views through to the entry.
